Dots and Boxes is a classic pen-and-paper game for two players, brought to life in this interactive online version. The game starts with an empty grid of dots. Players take turns adding a single horizontal or vertical line between two unjoined adjacent dots. A player who completes the fourth side of a 1x1 box earns one point and must take another turn. The game ends when no more lines can be drawn, and the player with the most boxes wins. It's a game of simple rules but surprisingly deep strategy!

1. Player 1 (Blue) starts the game. Click on any grey, empty line between two dots to claim it with your color.
2. Players take turns drawing one line at a time.
3. If your line completes a box, the box will be filled with your color, you'll score a point, and you MUST take another turn. This can lead to chain reactions!
4. Keep playing until all lines on the grid have been drawn and all boxes are claimed.
5. The player with the most boxes at the end of the game is the winner!
6. Click "New Game" to start over at any time. You can also change the grid size before starting a new game for an easier or more challenging match.
